About Mr. Dang

Master Phuoc Dang, a Sixth Degree Black Belt and martial arts expert, is the owner and chief instructor at Lake Norman Taekwondo America.

He started his martial arts career at 13 and became a nationally certified instructor at 18. Lake Norman Taekwondo America is family-owned and operated.

With the help of his wife Peggy, their children and a dedicated team of talented and trained instructors, Mr. Dang offers affordable, safe and friendly classes and competitive training to more than 150 students each week. To date, the South Carolina native has helped more than 75 students earn their Black Belts. He is committed to offering the best martial arts programs in the region.

Our Beginnings

Lake Norman Taekwondo America opened in the Academy of Dance Arts in Mooresville during the summer of 1995. Within six months, the school relocated to a bigger facility on Stutts Road, where it flourished for 14 years. It moved to its current location between Lowe’s YMCA and the main post office in 2005 when Mr. Dang expanded the school again.

As the longest running martial arts school in the region, Lake Norman Taekwondo offers various martial arts, self-defense and fitness classes for students of all ages in Cornelius, Denver, Huntersville, Mooresville, Statesville and Troutman.
